Church of God Advances in Vietnam

It has been an eventful month for the Church of God in Vietnam. Recently, the Vietnamese church hosted its annual ladies conference with 150 in attendance. The meeting was conducted in a retreat setting about 130 miles from Saigon.

National Overseer Moses Phung reported that the church this month observed its monthly three-day commitment of prayer and fasting, with approximately 275 worshipers participating. Dr. Dean Simpson and a team of five pastors and teachers from Helping Hands Ministries of North Carolina ministered during the prayer emphasis.

As if this news of God’s moving in Vietnam is not exciting enough, the Calvary Bible Institute, a new ministerial school, opened last week. CBI is designed to train and equip workers for the church in Vietnam by providing training in Bible and practical ministries.

With the cruelty of Communism and the despair of poverty oppressing Vietnamese Christians, they hunger for something more. The Church of God in Vietnam, with its full gospel message, is demonstrating to the world the power of life in the Spirit.

The Church of God entered Vietnam in 1995, and is experiencing healthy outreach and growth.
