Hispanic Heritage Month Is September 15 – October 15

The yearly celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15 to October 15. In September 1968, the United States Congress authorized President Lyndon B. Johnson to proclaim National Hispanic Heritage Week. It was observed during the week that included September 15 and 16. Then, in 1989, President Ronald Reagan expanded the celebration to thirty days from September 15 to October 15. This was enacted into law on August 17, 1988.

The Canadian province of Quebec won’t let public servants wear Muslim headscarves, Jewish skullcaps or other obvious religious symbols under a new charter unveiled on Tuesday that is designed to cement a secular society.

NH High School Affirms Parent’s Freedom to Pray

A mother of two students at Concord High School in New Hampshire is now allowed to continue to pray on campus before the start of school after Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) sent a legal letter to the district addressing Freedom From Religion Foundation’s (FFRF) complaint and request to prohibit her prayers.
