When Is it Time to Leave A Church?

A friend of mine from England recently asked me for counsel regarding a serious dilemma. His pastor had been involved in extramarital affairs, yet the man never stepped down after the scandal. My friend grew increasingly uncomfortable. Then he became alarmed when the embattled pastor announced he was going to lay hands on every church member during a weekend service to impart “special revelation.”

Make Plans for Christ’s Birthday Offering

Church of God World Missions will once again make an appeal to churches and individuals for the Christ’s Birthday Offering, an annual appeal at Christmas, asking donors to send an offering in the amount of the year (e.g., $20.19) that Church of God World Missions uses for emergency situations.

Eighty-Nine Organizations Certified as Best Christian Workplaces

Best Christian Workplaces Institute today honored eighty-nine organizations, churches, and Christian-led businesses as “Certified Best Christian Workplaces” from January—June 2019. The new honorees are based primarily in the U.S. and Canada.

Michigan Program Celebrates Five Years and Assists 8,000 Women

Since June 2014, Michigan’s Pregnancy and Parenting Support Services Program has served 8,168 women at 31,643 support visits. The taxpayer-funded program exists to offer women who are experiencing unexpected pregnancies pregnancy support and parenting education, from the moment they come in, up until their baby’s first birthday. To date, $3.3 million has been appropriated to serve Michigan women, an average of only $404 per pregnant woman.

Group Completes Missions Journey to Romania

The Bible has exhorted us to go into all the world, take care of the orphans, and share the Gospel with the poor. Twenty-one Americans did exactly that on a recent missions trip to Romania. Coming from Chicago, Illinois, Charlotte, North Carolina, and Cleveland, Tennessee, we all converged in Bucharest to embark on a journey with an assignment from God to serve the orphans and the needy. Our focus was the Bread of Life ministries.
