David Vega, a Church of God pastor in Miami was the catalyst for a prayer gathering that drew 20,000 to a prayer celebration, despite the threat of rain. Lee University’s Encore Program, which offers people age 60 and over the opportunity to take university courses, has a new line up of specially-designed mini-courses for the spring. These mini-courses are planned exclusively for Encore-eligible students.
Church of God Music Ministries, part of the Division of Discipleship at the international offices, will present the conference at North Cleveland Church of God and the Lee University Conn Center, Wednesday, February 22nd through Friday, February 24th. Day sessions will be conducted at the North Cleveland church and two worship concerts will be held at Conn Center. Headlining a night of worship on Friday evening will be world-renowned singer, songwriter and worship leader Israel Houghton and his band, New Breed. Other featured guests will include Mark Harris, the Voices of Lee and more.

HAITI — While students in Haiti remain devastated by the destruction of their school, students at Lee University rallied together for Dee Lavender Memorial Missions Week 2011 to help raise awareness and money for Haiti. The university partnered with Church of God World Missions to support the La Saline Church project and bring light to an area that is still trying to recover from the earthquake that shook the poverty-stricken country on January 12, 2010.

BARBADOS — Over 2,000 people gathered in the National Center in Bridgetown, Barbados, for the celebration of 75 years of the New Testament Church of God in Barbados.
