Lambs Presented Resolution of Recognition and Appreciation

Cleveland, TN–Marcus and Joni Lamb, co-founders of the Daystar Television Network in Dallas, Texas, were honored by the Church of God leadership on September 25 with a resolution of appreciation and distinguished leadership.

Over the last 30 years, the Lambs have been one of the most influential couples in guiding evangelical airwaves around the globe. Daystar today reaches over 108 million households in the United States and over two billion people worldwide, making it the fastest growing faith-based television network in the world.

Both Marcus and Joni Lamb have spiritual roots in the Church of God. Marcus, an ordained bishop in the Church of God, is a graduate of Lee University, while Joni, the former Joni Trammel, grew up attending the Tremont Ave. Church of God in Greenville, S.C. They were the featurd guests at a dinner attended by members of the International Council and International Executive Council. Both groups were in town for a regularly scheduled joint session.

Marcus Lamb founded and built the first Christian television station in Alabama, WMCF-45 Alive, becoming the youngest person in the country to do so at the time. Together, the couple grew the fruits of their labor into Daystar, which is now available on all major satellite and cable systems in the United States, and can be seen in every country around the globe, including Israel, where in 2006, Daystar became the first and only Christian television network to be broadcast in that nation. Joni Lamb is the executive producer and host of her daily talk show, “Joni Table Talk,” which has received ten Telly Awards, three Lone Star Emmy Awards, and five Daytime Emmy nominations. Together, they co-host Daystar’s flagship broadcast, “Marcus & Joni,” which airs daily and reaches millions across the country and around the world.

However, Marcus and Joni Lamb regard the raising and nurturing of their three children, Jonathan, Rachel and Rebecca as their greatest and most important calling.

Members of the Church of God International Executive Committee, led by Tim Hill, presented the resolution to “express profound appreciation to Marcus and Joni Lamb for their exceptional accomplishments and that they be commended for their commitment and devotion to Spirit-empowered ministry and broadcast excellence around the globe; and for their admirable leadership and groundbreaking accomplishments blended with spiritual vision that have manifested in outstanding achievements.”
