Seminary Offering ‘Freed To Be Me’

The Pentecostal Theological Seminary is offering a special one-day seminar entitled, “Freed To Be Me: Developing the Keys to Effective Leadership and Spiritual Transformation,” to be held on Thursday, May 18 from 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. on the campus of Pentecostal Theological Seminary.

Speaker for the seminar will be Larry G. Hess, Special Assistant to the Chancellor of Education for the Church of God.

According to Hess, the seminar will employ the “Servants by Design – Process Spiritual Model,” based on the Process Communication Model (PCM). The PCM is the world’s premier tool based on human behavior. PCM enables leaders to understand how and why people communicate. It teaches how to:

• Observe and understand our own behavior
• Understand the behavior of others and know how to communicate with them effectively
• Analyze conflict and communication and know how to find resolution and a return to effective communication.

“PCM is the only such model that originated from behavior observation,” Hess stated. More than one million people have been trained or coached by a world network of over 2,500 PCM-certified trainers and coaches.”

Freed To Be Me will offer several areas of focus, including the need to develop the attitude that transforms, avoiding the potential pitfalls of ministry and marriage, how to endure suffering and avoid your dark side, and how to sustain an ongoing transformation.

“Leadership is about inspiring people, not about hitting them over the head,” Hess continued in explaining the seminar’s focus. Participants will learn about negative conflict behaviors, managing conflict without destroying lives, how to be resourceful and persistent, and compassionate leadership vs. manipulation.

Some of the aspects of the seminar’s training will enable participants to do the following:
* How to know when people are telling the truth
* Be a leader and stop thinking about yourself first
* What is positive conflict? Negative conflict?
* How can we engage positive conflict?
* Helping people end their cycle of negative behavior
* Strategies for motivating each personality type
* How to develop and train a unified team

“This seminar can be transforming and liberating,” stated Michael Baker, chancellor of education for the Church of God and president of the Pentecostal Theological Seminary. “Following the concepts of Spiritual Transformation will release the miracle working power of Christ. Knowledge is powerful, but a transformed faith with the truth and humility is unstoppable!”

This Seminar will introduce delegates to a number of opportunities, including how to understand your personal needs and the causes of your greatest struggles; how to know and identify people’s personality styles with the key elements behind their behaviors; how to know your own positive styles of leadership, along with your weaknesses and negative styles of leadership; how to live free, healthy, joyous, and fearless with total confidence in the faithfulness of God to be in control of your destiny; how to live in the Glory of God as a transformed spiritual leader free of destructive distress and conflict; how to identify and possess the keys to effective communication, intense conflict and problem solving skills; how to be honest and accountable; and how to be spiritually mature with a broken heart of humility and self-confidence.

In addition to the above, participants in the seminar will learn the secrets for connecting with people in ways to mentor, coach, and/or counsel with effective skills.

“I am inviting you to partner with me and The Pentecostal Theological Seminary to develop the skills and knowledge to help people, to build up congregations, and to give yourself a specialized ministry that could help you financially after you no longer have an appointment, a pastorate, or a job,” Hess continued. “Finally, I want to introduce you to a powerful way to build great churches, train key leaders and expand the core group of local church leader.”

Each person attending the seminar will take an online inventory – “Freed To Be Me.” This inventory will be the basis for the seminar. In addition, delegates will be introduced to other models and inventories to expand their knowledge of leadership development, effective communication, conflict resolution, family counselling, and understanding people.

Cost for the seminar is $50 per person and participants will earn eight (8) hours of C.E.U. credits. The fee includes the cost of all materials and the “Freed To Be Me” personal profile from servantsbydesign.com, which will be based on responses to the profile questions. The profile will be included in a seminar notebook.
