MIP Commissioning Celebration Set for May 19-20

More than 600 candidates and spouses have signed up to be in attendance at the 2017 Ministerial Internship Program (MIP) Commissioning weekend, set for May 19-20 at the International Offices in Cleveland, Tenn.

This will be one of the largest groups ever, according to officials with the Division of Education. Along with delegates, there will be hundreds of supervising pastors, administrative bishops, state ministerial training leaders, and guests. They will begin their celebration on May 19 and conclude with the commissioning of the MIP graduates on May 20 at the North Cleveland Church of God.

Dr. David Ramírez, assistant general overseer and executive director of the Division of Education, invited Dr. Michael Baker, chancellor of education and president of the Pentecostal Theological Seminary, to preach in the celebration service on Friday evening. Ramírez has asked Dr. Tim Hill, general overseer of the Church of God, to preach in the Saturday morning service and then conclude with a commissioning prayer for the MIP graduates.

A reception will be held in honor of the MIP graduates, supervising pastors, and state MIP coordinators after the Friday evening service. The gala event promises to be a capstone for the celebration.

In the Commissioning service, David Hagee, the state MIP coordinator in Virginia, will be recognized for 25 years of ministry as the state coordinator. Four supervising pastors will be recognized for serving ten years as a supervising pastor, and 22 supervising pastors will be recognized for ministering five years as a supervising pastor.

The 2017 MIP Commissioning Celebration promises to be an inspiring spiritual outpouring as the more than 600 MIP candidates are sent into the harvest as part of the FINISH Commitment!
