Fall 2016 Issue of Engage Released

Cleveland, TN–The fall 2016 issue of Engage, a journal for Church of God leaders, has been released from the Church of God International Offices.

This issue contains 50 pages of resources to benefit the church leader, whether they be a member of the church staff, an administrator, pastor, or volunteer at the local church.

Published three times a year, Engage is a totally digital publication available free of charge at www.cogengage.org. At the site is archived issues and the ability to download and print the online magazine.

This issue contains a full report on the recent 76th International General Assembly of the Church of God which took place in July at the Nashville Music City Center. Feature articles include topics addressed by both Church of God authors, as well as guest writers. Titles include “Why We Need Ovrseers,” “Ministering to the Hurting,” “A Sending Church,” Ethics in Relation to Former Pastors,” and “What Really Matters in Ministry.”

Columnists include topics addressing legal issues, money matters and the family, as well as the newest addition to the regular features, a column focused upon specific roles of church staff members. In this issue, Justin Sharpe, youth pastor at Sumiton Church of God addresses the topic of youth and children’s pastors working under and selling their visions to the senior pastor. Interestingly, Justin’s subject ties in with this month’s Pentecostal Minister Flashback, an article written in 1981 by Pastor Bobby Rose.

In this issue’s book review the resource “Thanksgiving Psalms: A Path to Praise” is reviewed by Tom George.
