Spring/Summer Engage Released

Church of God Communications has released the Spring/Summer 2016 issue of Engage, a journal for Church of God ministries. Engage is published online three times a year (January, May and September) and contains articles of interest to ministers and church staff members on how to minister more effectively in the local church and every day.

This issue contains articles on a variety of topics, and provides viewpoints from within and outside the Church of God. Two articles, written from a first person perspective, address the topic of international adoption and the challenges and victories that accompany it. Dr. Bill George pens an article that speaks to the good things we might to take for granted about being part of the Church of God. There is an article that points out ten common frustrations of pastors and another giving five ways to keep balance in the ministry. Guest authors write about local church issues, such as whether or not to employ greeters at your church. Author Bob Smietana addresses the budget shortfalls that churches are continuing to face in today’s economy.

This issue also continues to give the latest information on the upcoming 76th International General Assembly. A complete schedule of guest speakers, the LEAD Conference, “Lunch & Learn” topics and Special Orders of the Day. As the deadline nears, there are also forms for registration and housing.

The Resources columns feature tips of finances, legal issues, and family. The second installment of the new column, “Points from the Pastoral Staff” features an article from Joshua Rice who serves in an administrative role at Mount Paran in Atlanta.

At the site you can view the document in a convenient turn-page format, download to your tablet or smartphone, or print it. In addition, any website listed within the publication is a live link to other resources. Archived issues are also available.
