Ministerial Internship Program Commissioning Celebration 2016 Set for May 20-21

Cleveland, TN–The Ministerial Internship Program (MIP) Commissioning Celebration will be quite an event this year. The lineup includes Jordan Smith, soloist; Mark Williams, Commissioning speaker; Tim Hill, Celebration speaker; and Brad Moffett, worship leader. Dr. Williams, presiding bishop of the Church of God, will preach on Saturday morning and lead in the commissioning of the MIP candidates.

The commissioning is a sacred time, when Dr. Williams will lead in prayer and other leaders—International officials, administrative bishops, state ministerial training leaders, and supervising pastors—will lay hands on the candidates and pray with them for God to especially anoint them to minister.

Dr. Tim Hill, director of Church of God World Missions, will preach on Friday evening, and he will address the state ministerial training leaders about church planting in their MIP Leadership Seminar.

Jordan Smith, winner of The Voice, season nine, will be the featured soloist in both Friday and Saturday services. Jordan, who attends Lee University, has captured the attention of the music industry with his inspiring singing. During his appearances on The Voice, his Christian character was evident.

Over 1,000 have registered for the Celebration to congratulate the more than 500 MIP candidates and 250 supervising pastors. The Celebration will be at the North Cleveland Church of God on May 20 and 21. The Friday service will begin at 7:00 p.m., and the Saturday morning service will begin at 10:00 a.m.

Bishop J. David Stephens, Executive Director of Education and the entire leadership team at Division of Education warmly invites the public to attend the services.
