“Individuals, congregations, businesses, women’s discipleship programs and youth groups are provided an opportunity to participate in an offering for the children God has sent to the church through SMCH,” stated Coleman Peacock of the Division of Care for the Church of God. “This year we are focusing attention on blessing children as Christ himself blessed children of all ages.”

Smoky Mountain Children’s Home ministers to approximately 500 children each year through the transition of residential, foster care and adoption programs. In addition, the Alpha school assists students in their academic progress toward finding their place in the local public school system.

Dr. Walt Mauldin, executive director of SMCH, stated, “Our objective is to provide a home away from home for hurting children and teens. Every child deserves a second chance in life and deserves a loving and nurturing environment. The BLESS THE CHILD project is a way to make a lasting contribution to the lives the Lord has placed in our care.”

“More than ever before broken homes, broken lives, broken hearts, and broken children need your prayers and financial support,” Peacock continued. “Our mission is to not only be aware of hurting children around us but to do something about it.   This is what compassion is all about and vividly describes the administration and staff of Smoky Mountain Children’s Home. They are compassionate. Your support makes it possible for them to continue providing for hurting children.”

Individuals and congregations are asked to consider joining in the BLESS THE CHILD special Mother’s Day offering this year. All gifts will benefit children in need.
