International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church Is This Sunday

Join with Church of God Prayer Ministries in this collaborative effort with Church of God World Missions, to intercede for unreached peoples of the world.

This Sunday, November 2, is the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. The primary focus is prayer- prayer for the persecuted, prayer for their oppressors, prayer for the nations that promote persecution, and those who ignore it. All over the world Christians are reeling from the rising tide of hostility against them and their faith. The Voice of the Martyrs organization is among a number of groups that track global violence against believers. Each day – the average number of believers senselessly killed is between four and five hundred. It is a genocide underreported and about which too few week.

Mobilize your church to pray at least 5 minutes for the Global Harvest.

Doug Small, who leads Church of God Prayer Ministries said, “In II Chronicles 30:27, the Bible says that ‘the priests and the Levites arose and blessed the people: and their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy dwelling place, even unto heaven.’ This is a prayer campaign that tells heaven, ‘We are serious about finishing the task given us 2,000 years ago. We will no longer make the death of your son, Jesus, a sweet song we sing about, while more than a billion live and die without hearing his name. We intend, by your grace God, to FINISH the great commission.’”

There are a number of ways to be involved in this effort. You can be involved by hosting an event, joining in the live interactive webcast, or taking part in the prayer initiative conference calls.
