New Administration Welcomed at Iris B. Vest SpiritCare Center

Sevierville, TN–During a special meeting of the SpiritCare Center Advisory Board, Betty Ogle presented the newly appointed director, Bishop Timothy Nuckles and his wife, Sharon, with a gift on behalf of the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce, welcoming them to Sevierville. The Nuckles were also honored with welcoming gifts from the Church of God Division of Care Ministries and Ministerial Care.

In July Faith News Network announced the transition of the Church of God Iris B. Vest Widows Ministry Center to the Iris B. Vest SpiritCare Center. The SpiritCare Center is an independent living facility located on Care Campus along with the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home in Sevierville.

Since opening in 2003, the Iris B. Vest Widows Ministry Center has provided a haven for widows. Building on this ministry, the new Iris B. Vest SpiritCare Center will feature a retirement community focused on serving retired ministerial couples. The SpiritCare Center’s occupancy will now include widows, widowers, and retired ministerial couples.

At the denomination’s International General Assembly held in Orlando, Florida this past summer, Nuckles was appointed to lead this transition as the center’s new director.

For the past four years, Bishop Nuckles has served as the state administrative bishop for the Church of God in Louisiana. Prior to that, he served as director of operations at the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home. The Nuckles have over thirty years of experience in pastoral ministry in the state of Virginia, where he served in many roles and capacities, including lead pastors.

Since beginning this new journey, Bishop Nuckles, along with Dr. Donnie Smith, Executive Administrator for the Church of God Division of Care Ministries, have been prayerfully shaping the direction and the vision of the new SpiritCare Center, focusing on the bright future ahead for those who will be served by this ministry.
