Churchof God Assisting Ukrainian Refugees

With violence in Ukraine between the government and a pro-Russian separatist faction raging for several months, many have fled Eastern Ukraine westward in an attempt to escape the conflict. Among these refugees are Christians, many Pentecostal, who now find themselves displaced from churches, families, and homes.

In an official statement from Church of God World Missions Regional Superintendent Tom Rosson, he announced “several churches have taken offerings and sent them to our Ukrainian churches to help with the various soup kitchens, building repairs, and humanitarian aid.” Also, the Ukrainian Church of God has begun expanding into Western Ukraine to accommodate the influx of Christians orphaned from their home churches by war. Included among the displaced are the residents of an orphanage that was commandeered by the rebels early in the war.

Rosson is scheduled to visit the area in October.
