Since its beginning in 1998 as Children of the World Ministries, Inc., orphaned and abandoned children around the world have been provided safe havens. In 2012, they are continuing this mission with a new name, Serving Orphans Worldwide, under the direction of John Gregory and Richard Baker, and in partnership with Church of God World Missions. While their name is new, their commitment to caring for the children of the world remains.
Every day, millions of children are left helpless in the world. Some are orphaned due to illness, civil wars, or natural disasters. Others are simply abandoned by
parents who no longer are able to or want to care for them. Whatever the cause, these children face the same fates: poverty, violence, sexual exploitation, and disease. Orphanages stand as the lone barrier between orphans and these cruel realities. Yet, they are forced to operate with little to nothing; facing a daily struggle to survive.
The mission of Serving Orphans Worldwide is to empower these orphanages to achieve sustainability; to allow them the opportunity to move beyond mere survival. Taking a Holistic approach, they ensure a healthy and nurturing environment, enhancing the children’s quality of life as they invest in their enduring success.
